These terms of use apply to the use of the "DeadlineVault" app (hereinafter "App"). By installing and using the App, you accept these terms.

2. Description of the App

DeadlineVault is an offline app for managing documents and their deadlines. The app offers:

Scanning and importing documents (camera, files, photos)
Text recognition (OCR) for searchability
Deadline management with local reminders
Encrypted export/restore of data
Biometric app lock (Face ID / Touch ID)

All data is stored exclusively on your device. The app does not require an internet connection for its core functions.

3. User Responsibility

Important Notice Regarding Deadlines: The app assists you in organizing your documents and deadlines. However, meeting deadlines is solely your responsibility. The app does not replace professional legal, tax, or other advice.

You are responsible for:

Entering deadlines correctly. The app uses data from your input; it does not verify its accuracy.
Enabling notifications. Reminders only work if you have granted the app permission for notifications.
Regularly checking your deadlines. Notifications are an aid, not a guarantee.
Securely storing your export password.

4. Encrypted Export

Password Warning: When you export documents as an encrypted Vaultpack file, it is secured with your password. We do not store your password and cannot recover it. If you forget your password, your exported data is irretrievably lost.

Please store your export password securely (e.g., in a password manager).

5. Disclaimer of Liability

The app is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for:

Missed deadlines or resulting damages
Errors in text recognition (OCR)
Data loss due to device damage, software errors, or user error
Interruptions or malfunctions in notifications
Incompatibilities with future operating system updates

This disclaimer does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, or in cases of intent or gross negligence.

6. No Legal Advice

The app and its contents do not constitute legal, tax, or financial advice. For legal questions about your documents and deadlines, please consult appropriate professionals.

7. Warranty

We strive for error-free operation of the app but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the app at any time.

8. Privacy

Information about data processing can be found in our Privacy Policy. In short: We collect no data. All information stays on your device.

9. Changes to Terms of Use

We may update these terms of use from time to time. Changes will be published in the app or on this page. Continued use of the app after publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law
